Dear Benny was a cherished pet, a labrador dog, who was part of the family from puppyhood.

Big of heart and noble of spirit. Gentle and loving and enduring of all the little ones laying on him, stepping on him, annoying him and snuggling him.

His favourite place when he came to stay with me was in front of the living room fire, from where he would occasionally move and demand a fuss and love, and walk.

Age wasn't kind as in later years he lost his sight and hearing, but he was still a lovely dog and part of the family. Never, ever becoming sour in nature even though many times his aches and pains must have got the better of him.

We miss him very much.
